With a FUN-FIRST student-led approach,
it’s EMPOWERING and it’s FULFILLING
because it's so much MORE THAN MUSIC.
My daughter attended Harmony House, and it has been a fantastic experience for her.  I don’t know of any other offering on the North Shore that gives students the musical training she received, performing in venues such as a jazz club and the Kay Meek Center. We came for the music and friendships initially, and frankly had no idea of the talent buried within.  It is the worldly self confidence that has emerged that is truly the gift.

Harmony House Music Studio is by FAR the best teaching studio on the North Shore. I would know – I am an instructor and have been to nearly all of them!

MIKE FERGUSON, drum specialist
Wonderful small music school with a family-like atmosphere. Unlike other places we have tried, these teachers are here long-term and not passing through, so the consistency is great. The added perks like studio recording, professional concerts, fun family events, Christmas Carolling, etc. really add to the experience.  Sandi and Jeremy are passionate about what they do.  Highly recommended for children as well as adults.

Our Specialty Programs

Budding Musician Program

For students ages 4 to 9, this is a fun way to get started in music.  Following a structured, progressive program in a weekly private lesson, this well-rounded approach teaches piano as well as rhythm, theory and notation.  We make the lessons fun, so students achieve success quickly, learning to play piano with chords in their left and melodies in their right as they sing along.

With every success, students' love of music grows, propelling them to learn more.  And with regular group performance classes, students naturally learn to perform and play, overcoming anxiety and gaining confidence as they grow with the support of their teachers and friends.

Independent Musician Program

For students ages 10 to 110, this is an exciting way to discover your talent and unique artistry, but also an opportunity to experience working with professional musicians and recording engineers, in rehearsal, in studio and on stage. Learn to speak to an audience, and perform solo accompanied by a professional band.  These performances and recording sessions are invaluable opportunities to gauge your progress and rise up beyond expectations!

This is perfect for those wanting to develop their leadership and team-building skills, grow their confidence and public presentations skills, and build their solo musician skills in a motivating and engaging community atmosphere.

Advanced Musician Program

Includes all the benefits of the Independent Musician Program, and further develops your artistry by honing your skills as a member of a band.  Under the leadership of a professional musician, you will learn to play in time, in harmony, balanced and in sync with your fellow bandmates. These are skills entirely different from being a soloist, and all important for the well-rounded musician.

Plus, being creative in a weekly rehearsal, developing the songs you want to play, building your own harmonies and riffs, together with like-minded friends is exciting.  And as the band grows together, learning to communicate in a new way, you discover the energy and thrill you get when it all comes together.

Small Vocal Ensemble

For youth and adults, the Small Vocal Ensemble trains singers to balance and blend their voices over microphones, skills that go beyond that of a soloist making for a well-rounded singer.  During weekly rehearsals, students create harmonies for the songs they pick, learn techniques for ensemble singing and rehearse in preparation for the end-of-term concerts, the recording studio and Annual Vocal Showcase.
