Independent Musician Program
For Youth and Adults ages 10 to 110 years
We guarantee that by the end of each year, ALL our students will be playing their instrument (or singing) with improved technique and more refined skill. Our program serves not only as a fun way for students to discover their talent and unique artistry, but also as a place to experience working with real life professional musicians and recording engineers. Every student learns to introduce themselves to an audience and will be accompanied by a professional back up band making the performances and recording sessions invaluable opportunities to gauge progress and rise up beyond expectations!
Our teachers are the cream of the crop! Each has a BMus or MMus in Performance, an important distinction if you want to learn from someone who practices what they preach. Learning from an educator who is also a professional performer is paramount if you want to be a performer. And learning from a teacher who has a BMus is paramount “if” you decide you want to get serious and go that route yourself. Foundational skills beyond the basic mechanics of playing, like theory and ear training can be incorporated into private lessons (depending on students skill level and interest) to insure a comprehensive education leaving doors open to post secondary music.
Our performance classes are inspiring and motivating, and serve as goals to keep students and teachers engaged in their lessons and excited about their performances. Every student learns the basics of public speaking and microphone technique allowing them to address an audience personally, and at the end of each class students collaborate and work together as a team learn a group song to perform together at the concerts.
